Fifth graders across the Johnson County School District will unite as 6th graders at Johnson County Middle School in 2026. This transition allows for earlier team-building, shared learning experiences, and a strong sense of school pride.
The Johnson County School District extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Johnny Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff was a valued employee of the district and a proud Golden Eagle Fan who will be greatly missed.
The flag will be lowered to half-staff the day of the service.

This year’s 5th-grade students will enter Johnson County Middle School in August 2026. Starting middle school in 6th grade gives them more time to build lasting relationships, routines, and leadership skills in a consistent environment.
As the 2025–2026 school year begins, our 5th graders are preparing for a big step. In one year, they will begin middle school at Johnson County Middle School, where they’ll grow together as Golden Eagles from grades 6 through 8.

The Johnson County School District is proud to celebrate the kickoff of our FSCS Teacher Leaders! Educators from across the district gathered for collaboration, networking, and growth. The session featured engaging Kagan activities, inspiration from FSCS Project Director Clabe Slone, and leaders sharing their leadership roles through the Kagan Inside-Outside Circle.
We are excited to see our Teacher Leaders leading the way—building connections, strengthening purpose, and setting the stage for an incredible year ahead!

At Johnson County Schools, student engagement is more than a goal—it’s our commitment. Our newest Golden Eagles are taking flight as they learn Kagan structures from our Kagan School Trainers, preparing to lead, learn, and soar together!
Big things are happening at Johnson Central High! Thanks to the KyCL25 Grant, our educators are diving into their brand new HQIR, Into Literature. It is so exciting to see Golden Eagles soaring with transformative learning every day!
Our current 5th graders—the Class of 2033—will join Johnson County Middle School as 6th graders in the 2026–2027 school year. This transition strengthens learning, builds community, and creates an earlier connection to the Golden Eagle team!
