Parents come and join Mrs. Macey Stewart as she presents Nutritional Meals on a Budget from 4:30 to 5:00 in the cafeteria at Porter Elementary today (Wednesday). This will be our final Adult Skills building activity for our P.AW.S Afterschool program for the 2023-2024 school year. We are looking forward to seeing all of our parents. The annual Parent Expo is back this year! This is an event for Pregnant families and families with children birth to 5 years old!
The Family Resource Center will be set up during Parent Teacher Conferences giving away various sizes and colors of FILA slides similar to the picture below. If you child could use a pair come and see us!

The April Child Abuse Prevention Celebration and Fun on the Farm at The Mountain Homeplace is free and open to all families. Today is the day! Please join us for our Grandparents and Relative Caregiver Support Group at the Country Music Museum from 11 AM to 1 PM. We will have fellowship, catering from Mrs. Angie and her JCHS culinary students and a presentation on cyber safety from Detective Mike Lemon. This group is open to and person who raises children who are not biologically their children.
Special thanks to these veterans for teaching students how to properly change and dispose a tattered flag. We appreciate you! 🇺🇸

Mrs. Johnson and her second graders would like to give a big thanks to Kaye Willis for visiting on The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day! Kaye talked to the class about Monarch Butterflies and how their relationship with flowers, especially milkweed, helps keep the life cycle of Monarchs going! Students reused plastic containers brought from home to create mini greenhouses. Kaye brought seeds that students planted in their greenhouses to create mini butterfly gardens. Students will continue their learning by conducting an investigation to determine if plants need water and sunlight to grow while learning about different habitats plants can thrive in. 🌱🐛🦋
Don't forget about our Family Literacy event tonight! We will be reading about Pete the Cat and the Easter Bandit! We will also have two crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and we will have 7 Easter Baskets to give out as door prizes!!!
