The PAWS Yellow Group showed us that kindness shines brightest when we celebrate the strengths and awesomeness in one another! 💛 Students took time to recognize their strengths and share all the reasons they are awesome. Building confidence, encouraging one another, and celebrating what makes each person special are important parts of growing and learning. We’re excited to welcome students to the first day of after-school programming! Our program is ready to provide students with homework help, academic support, enrichment activities, and opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun.

Let’s make it a great first day!

📢 After-School Pick-Up Reminder

As after-school programming begins today, please remember that designated pick-up times are 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

🕓 4:00 PM – End of Academic Support
🕔 5:00 PM – End of Programming

To help minimize disruptions and allow students to fully participate in academic support and enrichment activities, we ask that families please plan to pick up students during these designated times.

Thank you for helping us provide a smooth, productive, and engaging after-school experience for all students!

Mrs. Banks’ kindergarten students reviewed our letters of the week by coloring their very own ABC hats and then playing 4 Corners to find and match the correct letters with their hats. Lots of learning, movement, and smiles along the way! ✏️🔤

Through ongoing communication with Carissa’s parents, and in honoring their wishes for their daughter, the Johnson County School District asks our entire community to unite in support of her family.

We invite all students, staff, and community members to wear pink on Monday, August 17. Pink was Carissa’s favorite color, and wearing it together will serve as a symbol of our shared love, unity, and support.

Per her parents' wishes, all district schools—including Johnson County Middle School—will be in session on Monday. District flags will fly at half-staff in Carissa’s honor, and counselors and school psychologists will continue to be available in our schools to support our students and staff.

Please continue to keep Carissa’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.

It's cross country time!!! Let's dust off our tennis shoes and start pounding the lake trail! Practice will begin Monday, August 10th at the lake. Bring plenty of water for your runner. Can't wait to see all your smiling faces!!! (Please have a physical completed for your child. Our first race is at the end of this month, so we need to cover a lot of ground!!)
