7th graders in Mrs. Smith's class are diving deep into "The Giver" by Lois Lowry this week! Students worked on a Theme Quote Sort Activity, matching key quotes from the novel to major themes like memory, individuality, and freedom of choice.
This hands-on lesson helped them make powerful connections between the story’s ideas and real-life experiences — and the discussions that followed were incredible! 💭❤️
It’s amazing to see our students thinking critically, collaborating, and uncovering what makes this classic story so meaningful.

Just a few of our gals kicking off Red Ribbon Week with jersey day!

Remember it’s Red Ribbon Week! Let’s stand together Eagles!!!

JCMS was honored to host Rep. McCool and Sen. Wheeler for "Principal for a Day." They got to witness all the great things going on at JCMS as well as meet with our future LEADERS of Johnson County and Kentucky!! We appreciate them spending their day with us!! #jcmsSTRONG

Whether it's determining the climax of The Tell-Tale Heart, performing student jobs, raising the class average on Blooket, or diving into Leader in Me curriculum, Mrs. Preston's 8th grade ELA students are enjoying Spooky Season 👻 #jcmsrocks #eagle4life #leaderinme

Our Eagles enjoyed the JCHS pool as part of their Lights On AfterSchool celebration. We really appreciate JCHS allowing our Eagles the opportunity to celebrate our 21st CLCC after school program with a pool party.

We would like to thank our community partners from 4-H, Sonjia Meade, for working with our Eagles on identifying leaves and compiling individual leaf journals.

Wish the JCMS JAG students good luck today as they are competing in the E-CIP Challenge at Big Sandy Community and Technical College.

Today Eagle Enrichment got to expressive their creativity by completing canvas painting.

We would to thank our community partner The Johnson County Public Library for their donation and collaboration with our JCMS Eagles in the pumpkin painting activity. Thank you so much for your continued support.

Let's get ready for Red Ribbon Week October 27th through October 31st!!

Parents,
Please take a few minutes and complete the 2025 Youth Services Center Parent Assessment. Your feedback is very important to us and vital in planning and development for our future programming.

Mrs. Caudills Life Skills classes loved having Sonja Harless, our local 4H agent, in classes today to teach basic kitchen skills. Knife safety and measuring were the two main topics of the day. Then fruit and yogurt parfaits were made to celebrate their new skills!
