This opportunity provides for full tuition to UK/BCTC, room and board at UK, transportation and other expenses. Courtney plans to pursue Computer Engineering Technology.

For the third year in a row JCHS had 100% acceptance into the prestigious Governor’s Scholar Program. A BIG congratulations to juniors Caylee Caudill, Nick Hardin, Emily Jarrell, Ben Moore, Emily Pack, Jacob Rubado, Olivia Spradlin, and Amber Stiltner.


The JCHS Concert Band participated in the Kentucky Music Education Association (KMEA) annual assessment of KY bands yesterday.
JCHS, directed by Mr. Lawrence Lipinski, received the highest rating possible in all areas.

Congratulations to senior Trenton Hamilton on receiving the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Civil Engineering Scholarship. He intends to pursue civil engineering at Western Kentucky University. The scholarship provides for full tuition, paid summer internships, and a job placement with the transportation department upon graduation!


Trent Cox of Johnson Central High School has been chosen as one of the 25 Kentucky students to participate in the 17th annual Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute (ELI) this summer at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY.
Twenty Five 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students were chosen from the 45 county area serviced by The Center for Rural Development. Trent earned his spot at the week long summer leadership camp through a highly competitive application process.
ELI provides high school students in Southern and Eastern Kentucky with an in-depth look at what it takes to start their own business venture.
The Center for Rural Development has partnered with Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation and Eastern Kentucky University to fund this opportunity. ELI students are eligible to earn a $16,000 scholarship from EKU.
Trent is the son of Jason and Misty Goble and Chris Cox of Paintsville.
