High school swim season is here! Swimming is a varsity sport offered at Johnson Central and open to anyone enrolled in 7-12th grade in the district. The next practices will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week from 4 to 5 pm at the JCHS pool (between the main building and football field). Principal Justin Arms and Assistant Principal Jesse Peck were caught in action in Algebra 1 solving proportions during a Kagan RallyCoach Activity. Teacher Leaders Angelica Meade, Macey Stewart, and Amiee Webb were visited by the JC Schools Kagan Trainer as they implemented engaging, collaborative learning structures!




Ms. Wetzel's Principles of Biomedical Science students dissected sheep hearts today to learn more about the anatomy of the human heart!


Carpentry students are beginning to work on training modules in class. These modules will represent small sections of a house and will allow for continuous improvement of carpentry skills.







Chemistry students observe and determine physical and chemical changes in several lab station tasks.









Congratulations to these students for improving their ACT score in one or more subjects on the September national ACT!

Some of the JCHS Honor Choir members are attending an All-State Choir Workshop at Morehead State University tonight to learn their German audition piece.

This week the freshman I-Time was about setting SMART goals. We compared the process of achieving a short-term goal to seeds sprouting. Their challenge...to meet the goal they developed before their Goal Seeds sprout.
