STLP and Eagle Academic Team are two of the many opportunities that students have to be part of a successful team at Central Elememtary. We are looking forward to see all our teams excel this coming school year.



CES teachers and students benefitted in instruction and learning from the integration of interactive flat panels into all classrooms.





Engaging and innovative learning happens at CES with things like escape rooms and acting out shared reads.



We are missing our students and hoping that they are having as much fun outdoors as they had at their end of the year celebration of all their success.





Just a reminder, summer school began today for registered students. The bus drivers start routes around 7:00 AM, and doors open at 8:00 AM for students being dropped off at school.

Central Elementary began our 2022 CES Olympics today. Our students are competing and having a blast. We started with a parade of classroom flags, a torch relay and lighting ceremony, and our teachers turned into Olympic coaches during the opening hula hoop event.





If you are a 6th grade student at Central Elementary and interested in playing football next school year, Coach Holbrook is have a meeting Thursday, May 19th at 6 pm in the outdoor classroom at Johnson County Middle School.

It is so hard to believe that we are nearing the end of the school year. It has been an awesome year!!!!! Listed below is a quick look at some of the upcoming events.

Central Elementary Grades 3 - 6 are excited to begin testing next week (May 9 - 13, 2022)!!! Our students have worked very hard this year and are looking forward to showing what they know!!!! We would like to remind you of a few test taking strategies.
- First, please have your child in bed early each night so that he / she gets a good nights rest.
- Next, a good breakfast is a must! Please be sure students are at school early each day to eat a hot breakfast in our cafeteria or a have a hot breakfast at home before coming to school.
- Also, we need all students to be on time each day. We must follow a strict schedule and will begin promptly at 8:30 am each morning.
- Lastly, encourage your child to do his / her best.
We have amazing students at CES and are confident they will do great!!!! Thank you for all that you do! Parent involvement is a great assest that we have here at CES and we appreciate each of you so very much!!! Thank you, CES Teachers & Staff

Escape Room Champs
6th grade students followed clues, plotted points, and solved word problems in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane as they raced to escape.


Our STLP team was invited to an event today at the Country Music Highway Museum after U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers’ staff saw our project on the WYMT News. Congressman Rogers, his staff, and members of the community were able to meet and talk with the team about their project.





Mrs. Vanhoose’s 2nd graders learned about prepositions and prepositional phrases today. They practiced by acting out prepositional phrases.
