There has been some serious team building happening in Mrs. Wright's 6th grade reading classes today! Students worked with their new table groups to attempt to complete multiple challenges in which several were successful, due to teamwork! 💙

When students observed that their teachers' tables were slightly unstable, they discussed potential solutions to stabilize them. The next day, they arrived at school equipped with tools and offered to assist with the repairs. These students demonstrated not only a willingness to help but also preparedness, bringing the appropriate tools needed for the task. I appreciated the problem-solving skills they displayed during the repair process.

It has been a productive first week in 6th grade. Mrs. Bayes' class learned about the G.R.A.P.E.S. acronym, which will serve as a guiding framework for their study of world history. Additionally, students engaged in team-building activities to foster collaboration and a positive classroom environment.

Mrs. Wright’s Reading classes explored Canva today, putting their creativity to use in designing their ideal toolkits for an imaginary deserted island survival scenario. 🏝️🪵🔥💧

It's been a great first week back to school in fourth grade! In science class, students got to know each other by learning about DNA and making bracelets with beads representing their unique observable traits. They also teamed up to tackle the “Save Fred” challenge, where they had to rescue a gummy worm stranded beneath his capsized boat without his life preserver. We’re so excited for all the discoveries, experiments, and adventures that await us in science class this year! 🧪🧬

It was a great first week in third grade. We completed lots of reading and math activities along with back to school getting to know you Kagan structures. We are looking forward to an amazing year! ❤️
