6th graders explored “code switching” through idioms and created a flip grid to explain their meanings in formal language.

Ms. Aubrey O’Bryan and Mr. Henry Cantrell made sure that everything was smooth sailing at Flat Gap by being principal of the day! They helped with morning announcements, checked in on students and teachers, had a special lunch, and kicked back in the principal’s chair.

Today our Greyhounds participated in their House Competition! Students played trivia, dodgeball, and watched Mr. Pierce get silly stringed by Jackson Estep. Our winner for overall points earned this 9 weeks goes to……. The Greyhound Warriors!!

Flat Gap Elementary’s STLP team presented their “Reader Leaders” project at the Johnson County Public Library this evening. The leaders read their favorite book, shared student progress and the impact it’s made at our school!!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from STREAM class! 🍀Student used binary coding skills to find the colors of the rainbow 🌈. Students loved making rainbow clouds and watching colors mix for new color combinations. We also loved trapping the sneaky leprechaun with some very interesting and well designed traps!
We will be providing free sports physicals at school on Tuesday, April 5th from 12:00-3:00 during the school day. Nurse Lyndsay will be sending home the physical form with students on Friday, March 18th. Please complete the front and back of the first 3 pages then return this form to the main office. Thank you!
