Flat Gap Elementary was recently awarded a Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Education Award! Under the Direction of Flat Gap Elementary counselor, Holly Montgomery and STLP 6th Grade students Reagan Hampton and Myla Tackett, Flat Gap Elementary School received $1,456.96. The school’s student-led daily newscast will be upgraded with professional video, audio and green-screen equipment to improve broadcast quality, podcasting, and event recording. The technology will serve all 260 students by expanding creativity, technical skills and family access to school events, while remaining sustainable through student training and long-term use.
