Mrs. O'Bryan- CSC/DLC modeled a writing lesson with Mrs. Trimble's second grade classroom. Students began by discussing and sharing their prior knowledge of community helpers from the Wonders text. Each student then selected a community helper to write about. Using the hamburger writing method, they crafted complete paragraphs filled with interesting facts about their chosen helper. To expand their ideas, students participated in a gallery walk and worked with shoulder partners to brainstorm together. Mrs. Trimble’s class also used a graphic organizer to plan their writing, completed rough drafts, and are now working hard on their final drafts. Such hard workers and thoughtful writers!

Mrs. Nichols' 6th Grade students utilize the KAGAN Stand-up-hand up Pair up to review signal words for compare and contrast. Students then created their own anchor chart. #ItsAllAboutEngagement #GreyhoundGrit #GreatandGettingGreater #KAGAN

Congratulations to our Flat Gap Third Grade! These scholars have read 187 books so far this 9 Weeks with a goal of 200 by Friday! They have met their AR Goal by reading and passing AR tests on each book! #GreyhoundGrit #GreatandGettingGreater #AcceleratedReader #LiteracyMatters

It's almost our 50th day of school, and to celebrate, we have a "50s Day," complete with a sock-hop, Coke floats, and of course, classic cars! If you would be like to display your classic car for our students on Thursday, October 30th, we would love to have you. The festivities will take place from 11:30-2:00, so if you are able to attend, please, arrive around 11:00 to park your car in our bus loop parking lot. This is one of our students' favorites days! Our afternoon before Fall Break was filled with festival fun! We are so thankful for each of these smiles and look forward to seeing our Flat Gap Family when we return to school, October 13th!

Our Upper Grade kids are loving our Harvest Hoe Down!
