6th grade events for the Last week of school:
Monday May 20th 6th grade trip to Dewey Lake Park
-Permission slips will come home there are three things which they must receive permission for. 1. to go on trip. 2. to fish in spillway. 3. to kayak in spillway. Anyone of these no approved by parent will result in student not participating.
Tuesday May 21st Election Day no school.
Wednesday May 22nd 6th grade orientation at JCMS 8:30-11:00 then 6th grade will go to Thealka Park until 2:00 then return to school
Thursday May 23rd 6th Completion Ceremony practice during the morning. Then Field Day with inflatables after that.
Friday May 24th Last Day of School
-6th Grade Completion Ceremony 9:00 am in the Flat Gap Elementary Gymnasium.

Third and fourth students discovered that solid, liquid, and gas the states of matter can be found in an ice cream float!!

It was nice to see our former Greyhounds today as they came back to the school it all started for them for one last walk through. Wish these young ladies and men the best of luck as they close this chapter out in their lives. Once a Greyhound always a Greyhound!

What a wonderful surprise from East Point Church of Christ! They brought breakfast and drinks for our Greyhound staff for Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you for our morning treat and loving words!

Traveling back in time to 1850 Head Start took a field trip to the Mountain Homeplace today! Learning about life back in the “olden days” getting to pet and feed the animals, learning to plant seeds, learning about making yarn and weaving, and making homemade applesauce! They really enjoyed there time travel!





The Johnson County Schools Local Planning Committee will conduct the 2nd PUBLIC FORUM on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 at 5:30 pm at the Johnson County Board of Education Central Office. The Public Forum will be an informal gathering to obtain public opinion regarding future district facility priorities. The Local Planning Committee will meet immediately following adjournment of the Public Forum.
