Flat Gap Elementary is the recipient of the 21st Century Grant! This mean free after school programming for all of our students beginning next school year! It will go from after school until 6:00 pm every day we have school! Students may stay every day and at no cost to the families! This program will offer free after school homework help and tutoring followed by enrichment activities such as: Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rocket Club, Painting and much, much more! More details to follow soon. Special thanks to Mrs. Kimberly Cuetara Gibbons, Mrs. Jessica Webb Mullins and Mrs. Larissa Jo Witten for their hard work and time put into writing this grant for a chance to provide such wonderful activities for the Flat Gap Community!

As you have heard, one of our beloved Eagles, Cathy Gullett, passed away yesterday. Services will be on Monday in the Gymnasium at Johnson Central High School At 2:00pm. To be able to accommodate and to honor Mrs. G, Johnson County Schools will be releasing early on Monday. Elementary Schools will release at 11:30am; JCMS and JCHS will release at 12:00pm. With sadness, we want to pass along the news that a former Johnson County Eagle, Mrs. Mary Ann Lavender, has passed away. Mrs.Lavender retired from the Johnson County School System where she taught English for several years. Earlier in her career, she also taught atOil Springs High School and Meade Memorial High School. A Memorial Service/Celebration of LIfe will be held a 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Carter Funeral Home in Prestonsburg. Please keep the Mrs. Lavender’s family in our thoughts and prayers.
