The Johnson County School District recently hosted its annual Admin Retreat—two powerful days of collaboration, connection, and professional growth.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event such a success through your full engagement, collaboration, and commitment. Your dedication to students and to one another continues to move our district forward.
Special appreciation goes to Chairman of the Board Bob Hutchison for graciously allowing us to gather at the beautiful Black Barn—an inspiring backdrop for meaningful work.
Under the leadership of Superintendent Cochran, the retreat focused on strengthening engagement through Kagan structures, deepening our understanding of unit and lesson internalization, reflecting on Learning Walks, reviewing updated policies and laws, and sharing key program updates. We also welcomed KDE Associate Commissioner Dr. Jennifer Stafford, who provided valuable insights on assessment, and closed the retreat with a moving “Teacher Believed in Me” session that reminded us all of our purpose.
Together, we are building a future grounded in love, learning, leadership, and legacy.
