Summer Food Service Program

JCUSDA’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

Summer 2024

Johnson County Schools is excited to announce some great changes with our summer feeding program beginning summer of 2024!  The SFSP provides free, nutritious meals to any child aged 1-18 years old. Now, it also permits rural sponsors to provide a non-congregate feeding option that allows bulk meals to be picked up by a child or his or her parent/guardian & taken home.

In order to pick up 7 days worth of breakfast & lunch meals, you MUST sign up and choose a school/community location.  A schedule of pickup times for each location will be available in the upcoming weeks prior to the beginning of summer break. To sign up, complete the SFSP Google form at https://forms.gle/CDUjsrKWf3pcVAxt7

You may also sign up by requesting a paper form to be sent home from your child’s school.

Children will also have the option to eat a freshly prepared breakfast or lunch at Johnson Central High School each Monday thru Friday from 8:00 to 9:00 and 11:00am-12:30pm. For these meals, the child must be present and must consume the meal on site.

Please note:

  • Students picking up bulk meals may NOT additionally eat at school locations during the week. Also, if your student is enrolled in our district’s summer school, he or she will not be eligible for bulk meal pickups until summer school is over.

  • Children do not need to be enrolled in the Johnson County School District to participate in the program, and no proof of income is required.

  • All meals provided will follow USDA nutrition guidelines.

  • Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

It is our hope and belief that these changes will increase the number of Johnson County children who will have access to breakfast and lunch on a daily basis while school is out of session.  As always, if you have any needs or concerns, you may call the Johnson County Schools Central Office at 606-789-2530.

Best wishes for a fun & healthy summer!
