Empowering Education: Celebrating Johnson County School District's Impactful Grants

Johnson County School District has been at the forefront of transforming education and fostering the well-being of its students through strategic grant funding. With a grand total of over $21 million in grants, the district has implemented a multitude of initiatives that have significantly improved student achievement and overall community support.


The Full-Service Community Schools Grant (FSCS) leads the way, an impressive $15 million investment over five years. The district's commitment to inclusivity and support for students with disabilities is evident through the Preschool Partnership Grant, valued at $300,000 over two years, which assists working families who do not qualify for traditional Head Start or child care assistance.


Enhancing academic and extracurricular opportunities, the 21st Century Grant will provide $675,000 over five years to Porter Elementary. This funding will enrich the school's offerings, ensuring students receive a well-rounded and enriching educational experience.


Further addressing the needs of students with sensory processing challenges, the WHAS Crusade Grant has granted $20,000, enabling the district to provide sensory rooms or areas in each school, promoting a supportive learning environment.


The Post School Predictor Implementation Grant (PSIP) has allocated $75,000 over two years to enhance transitioning opportunities for students with disabilities, equipping them with the skills and resources needed for post-school success.


The Stelle-Reese Grant has provided $16,000 for one year, significantly enhancing arts participation for the children at Flat Gap Elementary with choral risers, LED spotlights, and handheld microphones, fostering creativity and self-expression.


Additionally, the Deeper Learning Grant of $51,800, Johnson County School District continues to integrate cutting-edge educational approaches into their initiatives, empowering students with more comprehensive and engaging learning experiences.
