The Johnson County School District is overwhelmed with joy and excitement about the groundbreaking of the new Johnson Central High School and Career & Technical Center.  Today the Johnson Central High School Groundbreaking Ceremony was held at the new JCHS site.  During the Groundbreaking Ceremony, Superintendent Thom Cochran welcomed Governor Andy Beshear, Governor Senior Advisor Rocky Adkins, Kentucky Senator Phillip Wheeler, State Representative Bobby McCool, United States Senator Mitch McConnell's Office Representative Donna McClure, United States Congressman Hal Rogers’ Office Representative Adam Rice, Johnson County Board Members, Johnson County Judge Executive Mark McKenzie with County Commissioners, Paintsville Mayor Bill Mike Runyon with City Council Members, Kentucky Department of Education Communication Team Wallace Caleb Bates, former Superintendent Tom Salyer, former Superintendent and current Kentucky Board of Education Member Steve Trimble, Sheriff Scott Hazlette, Codell Management, Architects from Sherman Carter Barnhart, RSA Financial Advisors, Bizzack Construction Company, community, facility/staff, and press members.  The event concluded with groundbreaking and closing remarks by JC Board Chairman Bob Hutchison.  

A huge thank you to all dignitaries, Valarie Blair for organizing the ceremony, JC Maintenance Department, Phelps Funeral Home for providing canopies, students, JC Tech Team, JCHS, JCMS, JC Transportation Department, and all those who came to support the Johnson County School District to celebrate our future state of the art Johnson Central High School and Career & Technical Center.
