The JCMS Youth Services Center hosted a field trip for the 8th grade student council members to the Southeast Area Health Education Center Career Expo at the Ramada Inn. Students were exposed to a variety of health care careers. Local hospitals, businesses and colleges were represented providing a wealth of health care career information. It was an amazing opportunity for the students to see all the wonderful options they can pursue in health care industry!

Congratulations Cadence Whitaker!!!! JCMS is so proud to announce Cadence placed second among over 500 entrants in the Kentucky Department for Public Health poster contest. Cadence and 13 other students had their work displayed during the 2019 Children’s Environmental Health Conference held in Somerset, Ky. $75.00 for Cadence and pride for Johnson County!

Update to previous post‼️ Mums can be picked up today through Wednesday. If you come during school hours, come to the front office first. After school hours go directly to our maintenance building that’s by the entrance closest to the post office. We will be there until 6:00.
Parents who would like to pick up mums today during school hours, may do so by coming to the front office and checking in. You may also pick up mums after school at our maintenance building, we will have someone there to assist you.

JCMS had the honor of welcoming Governor Matt Bevins, Senator Alvarado, St. Representative McCool, and Senator Smith as they congratulated our CmPS team (JUUL Breakers), who played an integral part in passing House Bill No. 11, outlawing tobacco in schools. We will be accepting nominations now through the end of the school day on May 13th. Parent elections will take place on May 13th from 3:30-5:30pm.
The Johnson County Schools Local Planning Committee will conduct the 2nd PUBLIC FORUM on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 at 5:30 pm at the Johnson County Board of Education Central Office. The Public Forum will be an informal gathering to obtain public opinion regarding future district facility priorities. The Local Planning Committee will meet immediately following adjournment of the Public Forum.

Tomorrow will be Black and Gold day in honor of the high school Lady Eagle basketball team. They play in the regional championship game vs Pikeville at 7pm at the Expo Center!! Middle school students will be permitted to ride the pep bus with a ticket purchase. Tickets are $7. Also, regional championship t-shirts will be on sale tomorrow for the Boys regional title. Those will be $12. If any middle student is interested in riding a pep bus to Lexington they can also sign up for that tomorrow with a ticket purchase. Tickets for that game are $12.
